The UK will be hosting the next round of international climate negotiations in November 2021. On these pages you can find out what the University of Oxford is doing to help.
The Conference of the Parties (COP) has been held annually since 1995 by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). It was established to facilitate dialogue, showcase climate science and to provide a space for countries to negotiate ways to combat climate change. The next COP, COP26, was due to be held in the UK in November 2020, but due to the coronavirus epidemic has been postponed until 2021. For further information and updates about the event in general you can go to the UK’s COP26 website.
The University of Oxford has been deeply committed to participating in the UNFCCC COP process and COP 26 will be no different. Climate, social and political scientists will be there to support the negotiation process in a number of roles. Ongoing news about what we will be doing can be found here, but if you would like to find out more information, please get in touch through the Contacts Page >>.
