Mike is geophysicist whose research investigates deep Earth, surface, glacial and volcanic processes. He works on a wide range of topics associated with the energy system, including geothermal energy. He has developed seismic methods for imaging ice sheets, multi-parametric approaches to studying landslides and embankments, and passive seismic methods for risk assessment. A current research theme is concerned with how society will sustainably resource Net Zero. This include raw materials needed for renewable energy but also methods for carbon abatement and storage.
