Nicholas Young is the Research Fellow in Sustainable Business Law in the Oxford Sustainable Law Programme and a DPhil candidate in Law at the University of Oxford. He is also a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University and an Affiliated PhD Scholar with the Laureate Program on Global Corporate Climate Accountability at the University of Melbourne. In his role as the Research Fellow in Sustainable Business Law, Nicholas’ work addresses issues at the interface of climate change, commercial law, and finance. His DPhil research applies doctrinal and computational methods to evaluate the impacts of climate litigation in Australia and the United Kingdom. An Australian lawyer, Nicholas has worked across climate litigation, law and policy at several think tanks and intergovernmental organisations, as well as in the private sector. He was also an Associate to a Justice of the High Court of Australia. Nicholas holds a Master of Science in Law and Finance from the University of Oxford, and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts in Politics and International Relations from Monash University.
