Oxford has been at the forefront of research concerning the adaptation to the unavoidable impacts of a changing climate for decades. An important feature of these activities is the delivery of knowledge and solutions in practice.
Research in this area is broad-ranging but specific. The primary focus of UKCIP is to investigate potential climate change adaptation responses of sectors and UK regions to address the challenges of local government, businesses and resource managers in the face of warmer temperatures and extreme events.
Providing tools for decision-makers is a common element of Oxford’s work in this area and one which adds immense value to understanding the adaptation challenges a changing climate confronts us with.

CLIMSAVE is developing an interactive web-based tool to allow stakeholders to assess climate change impacts in order to better inform the development of effective policy responses.
UKCIP have been recognised as world leaders the stakeholder-led adaptation practice developing a range of decision-making tools including the adaptation wizard.
