Research at Oxford into the physical climate system focuses on four areas: the atmosphere, the ocean, the cryosphere and biogeochemistry. Oxford scientists contribute to building observational, data-gathering instruments and to building models to interpret these observations. Researchers are also formulating theories as to why the climate system behaves as it does, and what our best estimates of projected future change might be.
