Babette Hoogakker

NERC Postdoctoral Fellow

Babette is a marine geoscientist, interested in the interaction between ocean circulation, the biogeochemical cycles and climate change in the past. She is developing a novel proxy-method to reconstruct glacial-interglacial deep water dissolved oxygen concentrations and respired carbon to aid identification of deep water masses associated with glacial atmospheric CO2 draw-down, and also to quantify the total amount of biologically sequestered atmospheric CO2.
