Grant’s research interests include the development of ultrasensitive absorption methods for trace gas detection, including VOCs and greenhouse gases. He is also pursues research into the optical and chemical properties of aerosols.

Laura’s research interests are: Amerindian conceptualizations of nature and society; historical and political ecology; development and environmental policies in Latin America; indigenous peoples and identity politics.
Patrick uses stable isotope analysis of archaeological and palaeontological remains in East and South Africa, South Asia, Melanesia, and Saudi Arabia as a means of reconstructing palaeoclimates, palaeoenvironments and palaeoecologies associated with the faunal and human habitation of these regions during the Middle Pleistocene, Late Pleistocene, and Holocene.
