Ritwika Sengupta

DPhil Researcher

Ritwika is looking into reconstructing Early Cretaceous continental climate through d18O as a proxy for precipitation and temperature, and linking this to changes within the global carbon cycle. She is also interested in comparing greenhouse and icehouse continental climate through time, particularly using similar proxies.

Rebecca Smith

DPhil Researcher

Rebecca is interested in the use of cryptotephra (volcanic ash) in order to gain an improved understanding of how the magnitude and frequency of past volcanic eruptions have changed through time, the causal mechanisms that may have influenced these changes and the use of tephra as isochronous marker horizons in order to improve chronological precision.
