Climate Dynamics

Research includes large-scale atmospheric circulation, ocean circulation and climate variability.

We use a range of computer models of the atmosphere and ocean, to help us understand the dynamics and physics of the observed ocean, troposphere, stratosphere and mesosphere.

Our current research includes the large-scale atmospheric circulation, ocean circulation and climate variability, with work on regular events and cycles and extreme events. We study timescales from days to years.

Our modelling and data analysis work is in collaboration with the UK Meteorological Office (MetOffice).
