Dr Tim Clack is Associate Professor at the School of Anthropology and Museum Ethnography (SAME) and Director of the Climate Change & (In)Security Project, University of Oxford, UK. He is also an Associate Fellow of the British Army’s Centre for Historical and Armed Conflict Research (CHACR) and Co-Chair of the Secretariat Advisory Board for the UK’s All-Party Parliamentary Group for Climate, Nature and Security. In addition to being the General Editor of the Routledge Advances in Defence Studies (RAiDS) book series, Tim is co-editor of Hot War: Climate Change, Conflict, and Insecurity (Routledge, 2023) and has written many articles, book chapters and policy briefing notes on climate security themes, including for The RUSI Journal, British Army Review and Wavell Room. Tim has conducted research in the UK and many parts of Europe, sub-Saharan Africa, Central Asia, and the South Atlantic. Outside of academia, Tim also has experience of working in UK government roles, including for the UK Cabinet Office and Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office.
